KONAMI CORPORATION

Konami CEO, Kagemasa Kozuki, made a keynote address at the Invention Day Anniversary Symposium 2008. This symposium was held under the sponsorship of the Japan Patent Office of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry at a hotel in Tokyo on April 18, 2008.

In his keynote address, Mr. Kozuki introduced our ideas for intellectual property and some activities both at home and abroad based on the theme of "Konami's approach towards intellectual property issues in the Konami Group - Intellectual property rights of music games and its utilization -."

Additionally, he explained how to produce inventions in the field of amusement arcade machines and how to utilize them as an intellectual property right by taking examples of beatmania, a DJ simulation game released in 1997, and DanceDanceRevolution (DDR), a dance simulation game launched in 1998.

He also introduced the effective utilization of an international patent application as part of the strategy for intellectual property from a global perspective in today's increasingly internationalized society.
