The Kobe Office has been implementing a private power generation system that uses solar energy since April of 1997 in consideration of the environment.
Through the system, 2,628kg of CO2 emissions are reduced annually. (*1)
That is the equivalent to the amount of CO2 absorbed by 188 cedar trees annually. (*2)
(*1). CO2 emissions for one year calculated by multiplying the 107,917kw/h of electricity from the private generation system from April 1997 to December 2012 by the 0.414 CO2 emission coefficient from Kansai Electric and applying that per year.
(*2). Calculated on the assumption as one 50-year-old cedar tree absorbing approx. 14 kg of CO2 per year (according to "Sink Measures to Prevent Global Warming" by the Ministry of the Environment and the Forestry Agency).
